Timber Frames of Australia are passionate aboutTraditional Timber Frames,in all their
Beauty and Strength, with quality built from Sustainable Sources. Traditional timber framing is a craft of creating a structural skeleton for a
building using large cross-section timbers applying wooden pegged mortise and
tenon joints. It is an ancient building form which originated out of the
necessity to build a structure which would outlast generations; centuries old,
with the earliest example of this form of joinery dating back to approximately
950 AD. Peter and Isabelle are proud of their rare trade, and are keen to share their passion, with workshops each year in their mortise and tenon skills. Though based in South Australia, their frames can be found all over the country. See their website for details.
